The Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid lead his team through the second-leg match of La Copa Del Rey’s semi-finals to defeat their eternal rival FC Barcelona 3-1 at the Camp Nou on Tuesday.
After a draw match 1-1 in the first-leg at the Santiago Bernabeu, the whites earned a qualification to the final of the Spanish cup competition with an overall score of 4-2 aggregated.
Ronaldo continued his astonishing performances for the sixth classico to take place at the Camp Nou with a penalty scored in the first half then a second goal just before half-time.
The Catalans tried to shift the pressure over Real Madrid but a header from Frenchman Raphael Varane complicated the task for Barça leaving them with three goals behind.
Barcelona scored its only goal by Spanish national Jordi Alba in the 89th minute but with no decisive effect as the referee whistles the end of the match announcing Real Madrid’s qualification to the final.
The excitement will continue this week and football fans will enjoy another Classico as the two teams will collide once again on Saturday at the Santiago Bernabeu for the 26th week of la Liga.
