Morocco wins 2013 SEED award

Nairobi – Morocco is one of 34 prize-winners of the 2013 SEED Awards, a partnership founded by the United Nations environment programme (UNEP), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) to support entrepreneurs working to achieve sustainable development.

The award, which rewards innovative start-up entrepreneurs who aim to generate environmental, social and economic benefits at the local level in a country with a developing or emerging economy, was granted to Morocco on the occasion of Global South-South Development (GSSD) Expo held at the UN headquarters in Nairobi.

The prize was handed to Moroccan enterprises “Au Grain de Sésame” and “High Atlas Agriculture & Artisanal.”
