Rabat – The President of Raja of Casablanca, Mohammed Boudrika, said on Friday that his team and the delegation it accompanied “were terrorized” at half-time and after the end of the match that pitted them against Wifak Stef (Entente Sportive de Sétif) in Algeria.
The components of the club lived a day of “terror” in Stef, Boudrika said in a video that is widely circulating on social media.
“We were physically and verbally assaulted by security officers and officials from Wifak Stef, who assaulted our players at half-time, and beat us at end of the match,” he said.
Boudrika added that the Algerian team’s president Hassan Hammar made demeaning comments against Moroccans and called them “Jews”.
Raja Casablanca’s press officer Mohammed Beloudi said things would have been even worse had the team made it successfully to the next round.
CAF Champions League holders ES Sétif won 4-1 on penalty shootout on Friday to reach the group stage of the African competition.
