Taroudant – Morocco’s Minister of Tourism, Lahcen Haddad, helped promote the Moroccan tourism industry during his participation at the International French Travel Market in Paris between Sept. 29 and Oct. 2.
During his working visit to Paris the Minister of Tourism met with several French media to highlight the strengths and fundamentals of the Moroccan tourism industry.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Tourism, Haddad presented Morocco as being a destination of close geographical and cultural proximity to France and stressed the importance placed by the Kingdom on ensuring its tourism services meet all the segments of the French population.
The statement added that Haddad also presented an analysis of “the impact of the European crisis and the Arab Spring on the traffic of tourists to North African countries.”
In this regard, the Minister highlighted the leadership position the Kingdom has taken in promoting a modern and tolerant Islam all the while highlighting the political, economic and religious stability enjoyed in the Kingdom.
“We are in tune with the values of Islam but also those of modernity,” said the Minister, noting that Morocco is a country “of tolerance and co-existence between religions, a multicultural and multilingual country.”
The Minister promoted an image of the Kingdom ‘’as an innovative and modern country. A country that has managed to combine authenticity and modernity, democracy and commitment to the values of Islam. ”
