Rabat – French club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has completed their deal to sign Moroccan winger Hakim Ziyech from Chelsea in the final hours of the January transfer window.
Ziyech will join Paris Saint Germain on loan from Chelsea.
“Deal agreed and unlocked on a loan move until June, NO buy option clause included,” football journalist Fabrizio Romano wrote on Twitter.
Ziyech, who had been linked with the PSG move throughout the transfer deadline day, will now play alongside fellow Moroccan Achraf Hakimi in the French club.
PSG’s head coach Christophe Galtier confirmed the rumors on Tuesday, saying that his club was working on a deal to bring the Moroccan over, but that he was still a Chelsea player as of that time.
The footballer was linked with a move away from Chelsea throughout the transfer window, as he struggled to find a place in the English club’s system following a 2020 move from Dutch team Ajax.
Rumors of Ziyech moving away from Chelsea intensified with the Blues spending around $200 million on new players in January, giving them a need to sell some players.
Interest in Ziyech was renewed following his performances with Morocco’s national team in the 2022 World Cup, where he was one of the key players to lead the team to a historic fourth place finish.
