The Moroccan FA have released the names of 32 players pre-selected by the national team coach Eric Gerets ahead of threir August 10 friendly against Senegal in Dakar.
Notable absentees from the squad are Adel Taarabt who has not yet been forgiven after the acts on the eve of their four nil win against Algeria while Arsenal’s Marouane Chamakh has equally been dropped due to accumulation of cards; he is replaced by Ajax’s Mounir El Hamdaoui. Morocco who lead group D of the ongoing Afcon qualifiers will use the game to prepare for September’s crucial game against the Central African Republic. Senegal on their part welcome the DR Congo for a match that might well seal their qualification for the 2012 showpiece. The Moroccan squad is expected to be trimmed in the next few days.
