“Public Diplomacy” trophy, given by Moroccan French-speaking magazine “Diplomatica,” was awarded to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
It was handed over by the Kingdom’s historiographer and Mohammed VI Museum curator, Abdelhak Lamrini, to Palestine’s ambassador in Rabat Ahmed Sobh.
On this occasion, Sobh said the award, organized in collaboration with diplomatic corps accredited in Rabat, represents a support to peace initiatives, coexistence and dialogue, with the aim of achieving independence in a climate of fair and comprehensive peace.
Cultural trophy was awarded to painter, sculptor and writer Mahi Binebine, while “Attijariwafa Bank” group, in the person of his head Mohamed El Kettani, won the economic award.
For civil society, scientific, sports, the awards were handed respectively to president of “Amicale Marocaine des handicapés” Mohamed El Khadiri, to academic Noureddine Mouaddib, and swimmer Sara El Bekri.
The trophies are given to distinguished personalities, from different areas and backgrounds, in recognition of their efforts in favour of rapprochement between peoples and in the service of general interest.
