China hailed, on Monday, the smooth administration of Morocco’s legislative elections held on Friday November 25, and expressed its readiness to promote cooperation relations with the Kingdom.
“We are very satisfied at the smooth administration of the legislative elections in Morocco,” the spokesman for the Chinese foreign ministry, M. Hong Lei, said in a statement.
Lei added that the Chinese government “supports Morocco’s efforts to promote political reforms and maintain social stability” and “we stand ready to promote cooperation relations with the new Moroccan government.”
According to the final results issued by the Interior Ministry, the Islamist Justice and Development Party (PJD) took the lead with 107 seats, followed by the Istiqlal party with 60 seats, with voter turnout standing at 45.40%.
