The Ministry of the Royal Household, Protocol and Chancellery announced that King Mohammed VI appointed OmarAzziman , Chairman of the Regional Advisory Committee, and President Director of the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans living abroad, as his adviser in the Royal cabinet.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday and carried by the Maghreb Arab Press news agency, Azziman was appointed adviser to the king in view of the expertise and experience he gained in the various positions he held previously and his dedication in carrying out the tasks entrusted to him.
Born in 1947 in Tetouan, Azziman has held several positions, including Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister in charge of human rights, and Minister for Justice, Chairman of the Consultative Council for Human Rights and Ambassador to Morocco in Spain.
Omar Aziman was the key note speaker of a panel discussion organized on November 16 by the Department of Middle Eastern Studies of the City University of New York (CUNY), where he spoke about the constitutional reforms adopted by Morocco recently.
Besides Arabic, Mr. Azziman is fluent in Spanish and French.
