Morocco will send a high-level delegation to take part in the Arab League observers’ mission in Syria.
The Moroccan delegation, led by Ambassador to Nouakchott Abderrahmane Benomar, is composed of jurists and military and security experts, the Foreign Ministry said on Thursday in a statement.
The Moroccan monitors are expected next week in Syria to partake in the Arab League’s observers mission in Syria.
The decision to send Moroccan observers was taken in accordance with the Arab League resolution and in implementation of the agreement signed between the League and Syria concerning the Arab Action Plan which aims at putting an end to violence and preserving Syria’s security and unity, the Ministry said.
The Moroccan delegation includes former Ambassador and expert in international inquiries Hassan Zahid, former Ambassadors and international human rights experts Al Arbi Mkharek and Abdelhamid Al Wali, communication and media expert Talaa Saoud Al Atlassi, security and military experts, Mohamed Kermani, Bouchaib El Farjia, Mustafa El Mouwahidi and Mohamed Khalil, Human rights expert Abdelkader Azrie and medical expert Hicham Benyaich.
