New Speaker of the House of Representatives, Karim Ghellab, expressed his determination to promote a participatory and consultative approach regarding the initiatives and reforms to be conducted by the legislative body, in contribution to the building of democracy in the Kingdom.
In an interview with Moroccan MAP news agency, Ghellab said he had already inaugurated this methodology starting from the importance of the institution, following the constitutional referendum on July and parliamentary polls of November 25, noting that the ambition of Deputies and political actors is to devote the institutional and legal status of the House and to improve its image among citizens.
In this sense he regards as fundamental the revision of the rules of the House, as part of a range of operational mechanisms and organizational arrangements to achieve an optimal matching between the legal and the concerns of Moroccans, while ensuring the strengthening of human resources of the institution with expertise in economics, political, legal and social issues.
Given the vitality of the data exchanged between the committees, groups, office and administration, Ghellab said the focus will be on the development of computer systems in the functioning of the House, stressing that preliminary vision was developed for this purpose by a committee comprising representatives of all parliamentary groups.
