Spain closely follows the reform process launched by HM king Mohammed VI and the new political era ushered following the legislative elections of November 25, Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Garcia Margallo said on Wednesday.
The statement was made during a meeting in Madrid between the Spanish official and Minister Delegate to Foreign Minister Youssef Amrani, who ended his mission as Secretary General of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), the Moroccan Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
During the talks, Garcia Margallo congratulated Amrani on his achievements at the head of the UfM and voiced hope to see the firm ties between Morocco and Europe further strengthened.
The two officials also examined the situation of Spanish businesses operating in Morocco and the prospects to foster economic cooperation, notably in the fields of energy and communication.
They also stressed the need to continue promoting relations between Morocco and the EU, the same source said.
