Morocco has always been a priority of Spanish foreign policy of all governments that have succeeded in Spain, said the former Spanish foreign minister, Trinidad Jimenez, who hoped to see the new Right cabinet continue on the same track.
Spain has “a strategic partnership” with Morocco, she said in statements on Thursday to the agency EFE, noting that the neighboring country has always been a priority of foreign policy for all Spanish governments.
She to see Morocco continue to be a priority for the government of Mariano Rajoy, who will soon pay an official visit to the kingdom, his first trip abroad since his inauguration.
“Morocco is our neighbor. We have more than one million Moroccans who live among us,” she said, noting “the close cultural, economic and trade proximity” between the two kingdoms.
