The United Nations’ Security Council will hold a meeting on Wednesday on the Palestinian issue, at the initiative of Morocco, UN source said on Tuesday .
“At the initiative of Morocco, the Security Council will hold a meeting on Wednesday morning devoted to the Palestinian issue,” added the source.
“This decision was made after extensive consultations undertaken by Morocco’s ambassador to the UN, Mohamed Loulichki, with all members of the Council,” it said.
This session, themed “The humanitarian situation in the occupied Palestinian territories,” will allow delegations to highlight, in particular, the consequences of the illegal settlement policy pursued by the Israeli government, including in Al Quds East.
The briefing will be provided by U.N. Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Valerie Amos.
