Moroccan Head of Government Abdelilah Benkirane denied allegations that he spoke to an Israeli media outlet in Davos, Switzeland.
Benkirane told the Moroccan daily, Attajdid, that he did not give any statement to any Israeli journalist or media outlet.
Moroccan papers have spread the information saying that Benkirane gave, on the sidelines of his participation in the World Economic Forum in Davos, a statement to a correspondent of the Israeli radio, Voice of Israel, linking the future of relations between the Moroccan government and Israel to the settlement of the Palestinian issue.
“As I descended the panel, I talked to a group of journalists, but no one of them introduced his identity,” explained Benkirane.
Communication Minister, government spokesman, Mustapha El Khalfi had denied in a statement, published on Monday in Attajdid, that the Head of Government gave any statement to any Israeli media outlet contrary to what has been claimed.
The same Israeli radio ascribed a statement to the head of the Tunisian Ennahda Movement, Rachid Ghannouchi, which the movement denies.
