The Sixth Hispano-Moroccan judiciary meeting opened, on Tuesday in Madrid, under the presidency of first president of the court of cassation, Mustapha Fares, and president of Spain’s supreme court and general council of the judiciary (CSPJ) Carlos Divar.
The opening session, aimed at reinforcing judicial cooperation relations between Morocco and Spain, was attended by Moroccan public prosecutor at the court of cassation Mostafa Maddah and the public prosecutor of Spain Eduardo Torres Dulce.
The two-day meeting includes four workshops on themes of “justice and communication means”, “justice and minors”, “the judiciary” and “the modernization of the justice sector”.
Speaking at the event, attended also by Morocco’s ambassador to Spain Ahmed Souielm, Divar highlighted the solid ties between Spain and Morocco, based mainly on geography, history and culture.
He described as optimal the cooperation between Morocco and Spain in the legal field, underlining that this constitutes an example to follow in other areas. He added that this cooperation takes concrete substance through meetings between the two countries’ judges, the signing of cooperation agreements and the exchange of experience.
Fares noted that meeting constitutes a laudable mechanism for legal cooperation, adding that the two parties made huge steps on the path of cooperation and joint action by focusing on issues of shared interest at the national, regional and international levels.
