Morocco’s permanent representative to the UN, Ambassador Mohamed Loulichki welcomed, on Thursday in New York, as “very useful” the talks of the 15 members of the Security Council concerning the draft resolution on Syria.
“We held a very useful meeting,” Loulichki told reporters, adding that “the Moroccan delegation is ready to vote on the draft resolution tonight.”
The draft was submitted by Morocco together with France, Great Britain, the USA, Portugal, Germany, Colombia and Togo.
During the Security Council talks, Morocco endeavoured to win the support of the 15-nation Council for the Arab Peace Initiative of January 22, 2012.
