Talents Association for Social Education in partnership with the Urban Council of Taroudante and the multidisciplinary College of Taroudatne is organizing the third edition of the Spring City for Short Film to take place from February 17 – 19 in Taroudante. This year’s edition will carry the name of the late great Moroccan artist Mustafa Salamat as a recognition for his creative work in the fields of both theater and film.
The forum will showcase thirteen short films by young Moroccan directors. This includes the short film “Shareefa” by Mohammed Bahan, which was chosen in a local competition earlier this year to represent Taroudante in this year’s edition of the festival. It will also involve four practical training workshops in the field of cinema: a workshop on production and direction by Professor Rachid al-Mouetamid, a workshop on scenario by Professor Ayoub al-Iessi, a workshop on montage by Professor Radouane Fizar, and a workshop on film analysis by professors Martin Joly, Sally Shafto and Kaoutar Tazrouti.
The event will be an occasion for the young directors to meet professionals in the field, filmmakers and actors, from whom they can learn and benefit. Among these eminent professionals, are the Moroccan directors, Mohammed Ismail, Abdessamad Charaf and Moroccan actors, Saad Tsouli, Fatima Khayr, Hassan Foulane and Youssef al-Joundi.
