We are so sorry for making the history our story, the story of Him, his story. We do apologize for neglecting your story, the story of She, and her story. You have spent years and centuries asking for your rights, which we do not have too. Frankly speaking, we are waiting for you freeing us from you and it is only the day that you get your freedom and rights that we will get ours too. So, we are counting on your hard work, persistence, and resistance.
I know that you can not do it without us and we can not live this life without you. I know that without your being our wives, mothers, sisters and grandmother, we would not find the way to this earth and we would not be the men we are and the men you wanted us to be. I know that we tame you and you tame us, we love you and you love us, we beat you and you beat us, we torture you and you torture us, we kill you and you kill us, and we rape you and you rape us. Whatever we do for you, you do for us. Both of us are equal and democrats.
We do not have to wait till every March 8th to talk about your sufferings and to let you know about ours. We do tell you our sufferings everyday, we study to get a job, and we get a job to marry one of you. We get our salaries every month to spend them on your needs. It makes us so happy to see you spend and use our money to beautify yourselves while our health and mental conditions deteriorate day after day. We keep wearing the same clothes all the year or for many years till you buy us new clothes and shoes. We love you to be our wives, but soon you turn to be our mom, sometimes you become worse than our moms. You give us your blessings or your curse and unhappy are the men who get your curse.
We leave our mothers to be yours husbands. Then we find you treating us sometimes as your children. You make us sleep wherever you want: in the bedroom, the living room or in the kitchen when you want, and we do accept it unhesitatingly. You do make us sleep with you or with the children according to your moods and we do accept. You love us till you get the kids out of us, then you love the kids more than you love us, You accept us till the children grow up, then you ally with them against us and treat us as guests at home: meaningless, useless and valueless, and still we accept it.
You chose the food we eat, the clothes we wear, the films we watch, the music we hear, the colors you like. You decide on our behalf the time we should talk, the time we should shut up, the time to go out and the time to stay home. You choose the friends we should befriend and the time to invite them or to be invited by them. You buy us cigarettes to smoke and perfumes to wear. You see, the more we grow up, the more you reeducate us and bake us like flour to be shaped the way you like. And still we accept it.
Please, while wishing happy Women’s Day, we do acknowledge that we are to be blamed for all your sufferings and mistakes. We do not deserve to enslave you, so please quickly, get your freedom to free us. As long as you are enslaved, it is we who are enslaved. We are enslaved, of course, by your body, your heart and your mind.
Don’t forget that we are yours and that you are ours too: we are each others and all the days must be ours together, all the days and all the nights. Let’s make every day our March the 8th.
Women you are but we……men. We are all the same; equal. So your freedom is ours and your slavery is ours too. Better find an agreement to get out of this old story of throwing blame at each other.
