Espace Création Association in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Centre Cinématographique Marocain (CCM), the French Cultural Institute, Fez City Council, and others will organize the 11th annual National Educational Film Festival May 11-13 at the cultural complex al-Hurriya in Fez. The festival will include an award ceremony honoring the winning national educational film of a competition that began a few months before.
The festival’s organizers have put forth a set of objectives including:
- Using the screen as a source of knowledge that strengthens awareness and promotes educational tools used in the transmission of this knowledge.
- Ensuring that film becomes an educational promoter to understand issues related to teaching in urban and rural areas and the expose the differences and obstacles in both.
- Making film culture accessible to teachers so they can understand the importance of the image in dissecting cinematic discourses.
- Sensitizing teachers to the importance of educational film clubs at schools which can play a huge role in enhancing civic awareness.
