King Mohammed VI’s “decisive and quick” response by ordering further humanitarian aid to be sent to Niger in order to alleviate the suffering of Malian refugees in that country “must be applauded” as “meaningful and saving precious lives,” Rosa Whitaker, expert on African issues, said on Tuesday.
“King Mohammed VI and the people of Morocco must be applauded for their decisive and quick response in aiding the tens of thousands of refugees fleeing the violence in Mali to Niger,” Whitaker, former special envoy of the Clinton and Bush Administrations to Africa, told MAP.
“Morocco’s action is measurable, meaningful and saving precious lives,” the president of the Whitaker Group further said, stressing that “aid, trade and private sector investment are all critically important to Africa’s development.”
