Suspected members of Al-Qaeda’s north African branch have kidnapped a businessman near the Algerian city of Tizi Ouzou, state media reported Thursday.
Rabahellah Omar, the 46-year-old owner of a building company, was intercepted in his car in a car park in the village of Bouhamdoune, about 25 kilometres (15 miles) south of Tizi Ouzou, the official APS news agency quoted security officials as saying but did not give further details.
The kidnapping was the 67th in the area since 2005.
