Fiorentina manager Delio Rossi was fired after physically attacking his player Adem Ljajic during a game against Novara. The Attack occurred when the Serbian forward showed some dissent at being substituted just 32 minutes into the match.
Andrea Della Valle, Fiorentina president, posted a statement on the club’s official website, in which he said “In a few seconds months of stress came out. I am sorry because the coach has never committed acts of this kind. The president added that “For his own good to make him understand he has made a mistake I had to take this decision. No provocation justifies this reaction.”
Commenting on his decision of sacking of Delio Rossi, Andrea Della Valle told Sky Sport Italia” At the end of the match, I saw the footage of what happened in the dug-out just after Ljajic’s substitution. I took the decision of relieving the manager of his duties, due to the severity of his action”
