The government council held its weekly meeting last Thursday. The meeting, which was head by Abdelilah Benkirane, Prime Minister, set to approve a number of organic laws and to discuss certain pressing issues. At the beginning, the government council approved a draft bill on the creation of the National Bureau for Agricultural Counseling. The bill was submitted by the minister of agriculture and Fisheries. This new institution adheres to the government’s commitment to put forward a new strategy in agricultural counseling through the creation of public institutions granted financial independence and that operate under public scrutiny.
The Minister of State Mr. Abdellah Baha shared with the ministers the outcome of the proceedings launched in the sector of employment. A specialized committee has apprised the number of positions available under the 2012 finance law. It has also counted the number o f job vacancies currently available in public institutions. This committee is also in charge of finalizing the decision related to the employment test criteria and methodology to ensure equality of opportunities and transparency among applicants.
The council has also adopted a law project presented by the Minister of health concerning the equivalency of alternative medicines. The bill is considered as a reference that will enable pharmacists to conduct test s to measure these medicines’ degree of equivalence with authentic ones. It is of note that drug industries have launched a line production of new medicines at a lower price with a diluted efficiency. The project aims at making these medicines available to the less privileged ones. The bill requires manufacturers to conduct a series of tests to ensure that alternative medicines match the quality benchmark already defined and remain relatively similar to the original version.
The Minister of state presented a project on behalf of the minister of foreign affairs related to life safety in the high seas in compliance with the international agreement of life saving that urges state parties to unify their safety strategies concerning naval accidents in order to curb the detrimental effects of sea pollution.

During the meeting , the Minister of energy, mining, water and environment reported the measures undertaken by the government in order to foster “green “practices and the protection of natural resources.
The minister of housing and urbanization delivered a presentation about the proceedings initiated by the committee in charge of the specifications of the public media institutions in the audio visual sector. The government decided to sustain the former specifications for the time being.
It is noteworthy that the latest specifications presented by the ministry of communication regarding TV programming stirred a heated debate among media stakeholders. Consequently, the government has subjected these specifications to new amendments.
