A new communication-based strategy in dealing with issues relating to the Moroccan expatriates, Minister in charge of the Moroccan Community Abroad, Abdellatif Maazouz, said on Monday in London.
“We are currently implementing a strategy based on communication and listening to meet the aspirations of the Moroccan community abroad,” the Minister said during a meeting with Moroccan associations in the UK.
He explained that the strategy provides for cooperating the governments of host countries with a view to defending the interests of the Moroccan community as well as promoting educational and cultural programs benefiting that community and promoting the participation of Moroccan expatriates in Morocco’s social, economic and political development projects.

The Minister also held a meeting with Moroccan Imams in the UK, during which he recalled the solicitude of King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, towards the Moroccan community abroad.
As part of his three-day official visit to the UK, the Moroccan official met on Monday with Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government Eric Pickles on the situation of Moroccan expatriates in the UK.
