Morocco has taken part to the European Bank for Reconstruction and development (EBRD) 21st annual meeting held between May 18th and 19th at the headquarters of the EBRD in London.
Morocco was represented by a delegation of the ministry of finance and economy headed by Mr. Driss El Azami El Idrissi, minister delegate in the ministry of economy and finance in charge of the budget.
This meeting was an opportunity for the EBRD shareholders to share the annual report of the bank programs and to discuss the strategic choices made by the EBRD, notably the decision to extend its operation area to four Mediterranean countries, namely Morocco, Egypt, Tunisia and Jordan.
The EBRD annual meeting main event was the election of the new EBRD president who will preside over the institution for the next four years.
Parallel to the EBRD annual meeting events, Mr. El Azami El Idrissi engaged with the EBRD managing board in bilateral talks related to the new cooperation prospects between Morocco and the bank.
Mr. Driss El Azami El Idrissi had also the opportunity to interact with Japanese Agency for International Cooperation (JAIC) and the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) about the advancement of cooperation between Moroccan and Japanese institutions, as well as on the way to consolidate and upgrade bilateral cooperation between the two countries in several sectors.
