Every creature on this earth is created in both male and female forms. Animals, insects and plants are all made males and females, exceedingly different from each other biologically, psychologically and mentally. To bridge the significant gap between these two genders, marriage has been created for the sake of procreation and continuity and as a manifestation of harmony, serenity and love.
Hence, the man longs for the woman and wishes to be close to her because for the significant reason that is of being different from him, meaning of possessing qualities and traits that he doesn’t and can’t have; therefore, the more a woman looks like man or behaves like him, the less attractive, valuable and adorable she becomes and vice versa.
The more a man becomes feminine and coddle in their disposition, the less respect, value and virility they have. In sum, the difference between genders is not created for useless purposes, but there is a deep significance in there though many trends are trying their utmost to erase these natural differences for the implicit and subtle commercial and ideological short and long term objectives.
The new world principles and values brought about by the so-called globalization seek to cast away all the natural and innate distinctions between men and women. Those half-baked principles and mottos have been forged in Western hothouses by the shrewdest people of some giant and influential industrial companies. The idea of gender equality carries its nobility only at the phrase level while the super-powerful transnational corporations are taking advantage of the phrase to flourish at the commercial level.
The prime aim of this feministic humanitarian-coated wave is mixing two in one. To illustrate enough, what man can wear, do and use should be worn, done and used by women and all what is permissible for women should be also available to the use of men. Let’s just ponder upon the kind of clothes and the way of dressing of men and women to know this commercial rule.
The abolishment of any distinction between men and women namely mixing two in one is the ultimate purport of gender equality. How about descending to our society and probing these realities? The operations of “masculinising” women are taking place more than those aiming at “feminizing” men. Sarcastically, equality is achieved when women are to adopt and embrace men’s behavior, disposition and their way of conduct. As arguments to back up this idea I find it more appropriate to refrain from tackling the way of dressing and the likes as they are clearer even to the blind, what I’d like to point to is the fact that we have got some Arab feminists and radical feminists claiming fiercely to have some alterations in the Arabic grammar in a bid to delete “noon a niswa” (an indication of plural feminine in a word) as well as “jam3 al moanat” (an indication of plural feminine in a word .) Moreover, we found them also struggling to gain the so-called right to adopt their husbands’ family names as it is the case with their western counterpart without claiming to have men adopt their wives family names or even strive for the real equality that is keeping their family names and men to keep theirs. Isn’t this the real equality?! Who labelled them blind followers did not lie.
These insistent forgery and destruction of the natural status of matters, and unfaltering effort to masculinise women and feminize men still clashes and will ever with the innate quality of each human being. Women will never cease being pregnant and give birth to babies; the case which will never ever be with men. As we all know, Adam was made from soil whereas Eve was created from his left rib; that is from something alive.
That is the reason why it is normal to see Adam usually dealing with the materials or the elements he was made from, being a peasant, a warrior or a trader. That is to say he deals with the earth. As for Eve, she is going to deal with the spirit of humans for she is going to rear up and care for her children, be a wife, a mother, a sister…that is to say, she is going to deal with alive things. That why she was called Eve (Hawae in Arabic) which means in Arabic language life because she was created from life and her mission is to deal with lives.
The difference between men and women is not confined only to what is natural, psychological, and biological; rather it pertains to the free behavior in social activities. There are still and will be numerous occupations that attract mostly men and not women and other jobs that appeal to women and not men. And also others that are suitable for them both as it is the case with educational specialization and disciplines that obviously reflect the intellectual faculties that women possess. What is really notable here is the fact that women, after been offered endless chances, have invaded some of the professional domains that were totally men-bound and they have excelled in number and performance. Any way, women proved to be successful and adorable for works that require sensibility, calmness, beauty, cleanness and neatness. That why women’s existence is not that high in fields that are difficult, tough and physically and mentally daunting.
We are witnessing unfaltering efforts in a bid to achieve equality between men and women in fields of politics and economics, yet we do not touch on any of these endeavors in the military fields, bearing in mind that even in politics and political leadership, women’s performance still a backward one in comparison with that of men.
Another striking idea that seems worthy to mention in this article is the fact that the third world or the developing countries are believed to be fields not only for scientific experiments, but for socio- political ones as well. Women in the distressed nations have been frequenting on presidency more than those in Europe or in USA which are believed to be established on freedom, democracy and equality of life opportunities. Women in the West haven’t ever reached the presidential status or even the position of the vice president or at least a challenging candidate in a presidential campaign.
I vividly remember how Hillary Clinton was the target of lampooning and defamation by some famous newspapers, personalities of high rank and the civil society while competing with Barack Obama for the Democratic Party’s candidature. Safe it is to say that in spite of the respect and appreciation that women enjoy in the U.S. and in other developed countries, people from all walks of life still aren’t ready to accept the reality that their internal and external affairs are going to be run by a woman.
In stark contrast, after a cursory glance at the status of women regarding the issue of presidency in the under-developed countries, one would be flabbergasted to know that women there have surpassed and outmatched their peers in the West with the help and unconditional support before, during and after the campaign from some powerful countries and some commercial and military giant companies that aim at paving the way in front of circulating their political and industrial agendas. The following are mere examples of those third world women presidents: Suhbaataryn yanjmaa of Mongolia; Lydia Gueiler Tejada of Bolivia; Carmen Pereira of Guiana Bissau; Corazon(Cory) Aquino of Philippines, Ertha pascal-Trouillot of Haiti, Sylvie Kinigi of Burundi, Ruth perry of Liberia. Rosalia Arteaga Serrano of Ecuador…etc.
One of the fields where the distinction between man and woman is crystal clear is the sporting arena. There are some kinds of sports that are practiced only by men and others that are under the monopoly of women. And here we can conclude that the sport field is the only field that doesn’t allow for the mixture of both genders. Namely, sport doesn’t permit the two sexes to compete with each other in the same sport game and here different interpretations may crop up regarding the biological and the superiority of men and no feminist moved an eyebrow.
I shall introduce before you another example that illustrates the innate biological capacity differences between males and females and plead with you to ponder upon these critical questions: why crimes, wars and violence are usually attributed to men and not to women? Why the world of fashion, model and cosmetics is almost a world of women par excellence? Why there is a severe competition for the so-called miss 2012?
In a nutshell, the mark of power is often presented in the form of the upper hand, the helping hand. Amid invasions and occupations, focus has fallen on more subtle means of advancing the agendas of foreign powers. One such means is targeting the generative essence of societies, wherein women stand at the center. For those who are always ready to get spellbound with whatever comes from the West, this definition of equality cannot work in the Arab world because neither will our women find jungles to cut wood in, nor our men ever have breasts to feed babies.
