Foreign Minister Saad Dine El Otmani met, on Tuesday in Montreal, representatives of associations of the Moroccan community in Canada.
The meeting was an opportunity to shed light on several social, cultural and educational issues relating to the Moroccan community in Canada.
The Minister said that Morocco collaborates with Canadian authorities to find solution to the problems facing Moroccan expatriates notably students.
El Otmani also highlighted the democratic and political reforms that have been implemented in Morocco as well as the future cooperation prospects with Canada, noting that his visit comes at a time the two countries are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
The Minister also called on Moroccan expatriates to contribute to expanding the influence of their homeland amid Canadian citizens through social and cultural activities.
He also briefed the members of the Moroccan community about the latest developments in the Sahara issue following Morocco’s withdrawal of confidence from the UN Secretary General’s Personal Envoy for the Sahara Christopher Ross.
