Over the past few years, the city of Khouribga has become the capital of African cinema – where African filmmakers and productions are celebrated every year. This year, the 15th edition of the African Cinema Festival will be held from June 30 through July 7 in Khouribga where 12 feature films representing various African countries will compete for the festival’s grand prize.
The jury of the official competition will include names of several national and international personalities from the fields of filmmaking, production, and media. During the festival, an international seminar will be organized with the participation of professionals in cinema, media and other fields of knowledge as well as a signing ceremony of a publication related to the current state of the African cinema.
The festival will also be an occasion to pay tribute to several great national and international figures who have contributed to the development of African cinema. Among them are: Mouna Fettou (Morocco), Abderrahmane Sissako (Mauritania), and Roger Gnoan Mbala (Ivory Coast)
The program of this year’s edition will include a diverse range of activities such as trainings and workshops in scenario, montage and image, discussions and screening of variety of national and African films.

–Bayiri, la Patrie by Pierre YAMÉOGO (Burkina-Faso, 2012)
–Matière GRISE by Kivu RUHORAHOZA (Rwanda, 2011)
–Tout va bien by Pocas PASCOAL (Angola, 2011)
–Viva Riva by Djo MUNGA (Congo, 2011)
–DIMA BRANDO by Ridha BEHI (Tunisia, 2012)
–Combien tu m’aimes by Fatma zohra ZAMOUM (Algeria, 2011)
–Kaf al kamar by Khaled YOUSSEF (Egypt, 2011)
–Mort à vendre by Faouzi BENSAIDI (Morocco, 2011)
–Andalousie mon Amour by Mohamed Nadif (Morocco, 2011)
