Swiss prosecutors said on Wednesday they had frozen the assets of a Tunisian policitian believed to be worth millions of dollars.
Khayam Turki is a senior figure in Tunisia’s left-wing Ettakatol party.
“The ministry confirms the details,” said Sophie Bernard, spokeswoman for the prosecutor’s office in Geneva.
Turki is suspected of embezzling funds from his time as director of Emirates International Investment Company (EIIC), according to Swiss news agency ATS.
