Morocco called, on Thursday in Rio de Janeiro, upon north countries to fulfill commitment regarding to providing development aid to south countries through additional funding and transferring technologies at affordable costs as well as reinforcing capacities in the fields of environment and green economy.
“Today, we need an economic model that is able to ensure development and contribute to improving the lives of human beings,” Head of the Government Abdelilah Benkirane said at a plenary session of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, Rio+20.
He highlighted Morocco’s strategic decisions to foster green economy, reinforce human development and increase the pace of programs relating to protecting the environment.
In this respect, Benkirane called for adhering to the UN’s actions with a view to achieving a better integration of the three dimensions of human development.
“Today, we are called upon to make an objective assessment of the progress achieved and to renew our commitment to sustainable development in its economic, social and environmental dimensions,” said Benkirane.
