Morocco is now regarded as the benchmark country for offshoring in the world.
On Wednesday, Morocco won the title of best destination of offshoring for the year 2012, awarded by the European Association of off-shoring.
The kingdom has outclassed five destinations shortlisted for this prestigious award, namely South Africa, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Egypt.
The trophy was handed by the European Association of offshoring (EOA) to Abderrafie Hanouf, general manager of MedZ Sourcing, a subsidiary of CDG Development (Caisse de Depot et de Gestion), which is in charge of the development of this sector, at a ceremony organized at the headquarters of the Law Society in London.
This is an international recognition of the remarkable progress made in the Kingdom in the field of offshoring, turning country one of the most popular destinations in the region and a very promising market.
In recent years, Morocco has indeed managed to position itself as a platform offering quality services to European companies seeking competitive solutions for the deployment of their strategic out-sourcing.
The development of offshoring in Morocco is progressing at fast pace.
Morocco now has three parks that are dedicated entirely to this activity: CasaNearshore in Casablanca, in addition to Fez and Rabat Technopolis Shore which officially opened on June 20. Another is being developed in Oujda, in east of Morocco, while other projects of offshore parks are under study.
The offshoring has created, at the end of 2011, 52,000 jobs and produced a turnover of 7.6 billion dirham. Call centers offered on their own more than 40,000 jobs in Morocco, according to the Moroccan Association of the customer relationship (CDMA).
