The Moroccan athlete Meriem Alaoui Selsouli, has improved the world’s season best record of 1500 m with 3 min 56 sec 15/100e during the seventh stage of the Diamond League athletics, Friday night at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis.
Fourth of the 2007 Worlds in Osaka (Japan), Alaoui Selsouli has performed better than the Ethiopian Abeba Aregawi, who came third on Friday (3:58.59), and had established the old MPM in 3 min 56 sec 54/100e.
The 27 year-old Moroccan athlete, Meriem Selsouli Alaoui, outperformed her competitors at Stade de France, after a mano a mano in the final stretch, with the Turkish Asli Cakir Alptekin (3:56.62), who was crowned champion of Europe last week in Helsinki.
Morocco’s Mariem Selsouli has become the world’s leader in the women’s 1500m.
