Morocco’s industrial strategy is already bearing fruit at midpoint, with tangible intermediate results, minister of industry, trade and new technologies said.
“At midpoint, we note that the industrial strategy is already bearing first fruits, with tangible intermediate results achieved,” especially “the creation of more than 50,000 jobs since 2008 in the new world professions,” Abdelkader Aâmara told the Moroccan French-speaking daily Aujourd’hui le Maroc.
The minister added that the strategy has resulted in a 20% rise in GDP between 2008 and 2010, rising by 20 billion dirhams.
He highlighted the government’s efforts to enhance small and medium-sized enterprises’ competitiveness and their productive potential, and create an attractive business climate.
As regards the sector of information and communication technologies, the minister pointed out that around two years after its launch, the Maroc Numeric 2013 strategy aimed at making the Kingdom a regional ICT hub is witnessing a sustained momentum of achievements.
