Member of the European Parliament and former French Justice Minister Rachida Dati commended the Royal speech on the Throne Day in which King Mohammed VI expressed resolve to strengthen the rule of law and continue reforms relating to regionalization and the judiciary.
“HM the King recalled that, under the new constitution, the government has efficient tools to continue the required reforms for Morocco’s development, notably in fields relating to justice and regionalization,” Dati said in a statement on Monday.
“These two priority projects show the determination of HM the King to guarantee the rule of law for all Moroccans and to take their concerns into account,” she said, adding that “regionalization will render administration more efficient to the service of Moroccans.”
“This local democracy,” she said, will have a beneficial impact on Morocco’s development.
On the close Morocco-EU relations, Dati noted that the recent adoption by the European Commission of a program to support Morocco’s reforms in finance and public administration reflect the trust of European institutions in the Kingdom and stress the pertinence of the reforms spurred by the King.
