Liverpool on Thursday agreed to sign an undisclosed deal with Moroccan winger Oussama Assiaidi from Dutch club SC Heerenveen.
The Moroccan National player has to pass a medical test to secure his transfer and join the squad of Brendan Rodgers, Liverpool’s coach.
“Liverpool Football Club has reached an agreement with SC Heerenveen for the transfer of winger Oussama Assaidi, subject to the player passing a medical,” read a statement on the club’s website.
The 24-year-old Assaidi played 68 games for Heerenveen scoring 20 goals in the Dutch Eredivisie.
He played 22 times with the Atlas Lions since his first international appearance in February 2011.
One of his best performances with the Atlas lions was in Marrakech against Algeria at the Stade de Marrakesh in 2012 African Cup of Nations qualifiers.
An injury prevented him from fully taking part in the African Cup of Nations, which took place in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea in early 2012. His last appearance with the Moroccan national team was against Tunisia in the Atlas Lions’ first match in the African tournament.
