Ties between Morocco and Africa are based, now more than ever, on economy, minister delegate for foreign affairs Youssef Amrani affirmed, calling for comprehensive, preferential agreements.
It is important to progress towards comprehensive, preferential agreements, while focusing on the sectors of goods and services in which the Moroccan economy is competitive, Amrani told on Thursday the “Economiste” daily. He also called for promoting and protecting investment sectors through provisions on intellectual property.
These agreements should seek to establish free trade zones with Morocco or slash customs duties on goods and services, he added.
He said that some Moroccan-African agreements grew old and are not implemented, insisting on the role of Moroccan diplomacy to revive such treaties.
