US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reiterated, Thursday in Washington, America’s unwavering support for Morocco’s autonomy plan in the Sahara which is “serious, realistic and credible.”
“We have clearly stated that Morocco’s autonomy plan in the Sahara is serious, realistic and credible,” Clinton said at the opening of the first session of the Moroccan-US strategic dialogue, recalling that the US policy in this regard remains unchanged.
The autonomy plan, she went on, represents an approach that would meet the aspirations of the Sahara inhabitants to manage their own affairs in peace and dignity.
She underlined that the United States is still supporting talks under the UN aegis, as well as efforts to reach a durable, peaceful and mutually-acceptable settlement, hoping to see the two parties work to achieve this.
