The Chargé d’affaires of the US Embassy in Sudan escaped death on Friday after more than 5000 protesters encircled the US diplomatic representation in Khartoum.
According to the Casablanca-based Radio plus, the US diplomat was taken out of the Sudanese special forces several hours after angry protesters set the US embassy ablaze. The protests resulted in the death of one Sudanese protester after he was hit by a police car.
The rioters have also attacked the German Embassy in Khartoum.
Protests against the US embassies across the Muslim world spread because of an amateurish American-made movie that ridicules Islam, portrays Muslims as violent, promiscuous people and defames and mocks the Prophet Mohamed (PBUH).
This unprecedented wave of protests against the US diplomatic representations claimed already the lives of 4 American diplomats in Libya, among which the US Ambassador in Libya, Chris Stevens.
Most Muslims are convinced that the misguided and criminal way in which the protesters are attacking the American diplomatic representations is doing more harm to the image of Muslims than the film they are denouncing.
