Two terror suspects extradited from Britain were on Saturday to appear in a US court in New Haven, Connecticut, officials said.
Babar Ahmad and Syed Talha Ahsan were scheduled to appear at 8:00 am before US District Judge Janet Hall, US District Attorney David Fein announced.
Ahmad, 38, and Ahsan, 33, both British citizens, are charged with terrorism-related offenses stemming from their involvement in “Azzam Publications” in London that allegedly provided material support to the
Chechen Muhjahedeen, the Taliban, and associated terrorist groups, the statement said.
Both men were extradited from Britain and arrived in the United States earlier Saturday along with radical Islamic cleric Abu Hamza and two other suspects.
