The democratic process in Morocco is one of the “most advanced and most exemplary” in north Africa, Spain’s Foreign Minister, José Manuel Garcia-Margallo, said on Tuesday, renewing support for this process.
The minister was speaking before his country’s senate (upper house). He described as “excellent” Morocco-Spain ties, underlining the “good cooperation climate” in the fight against terror, illegal immigration and drug trafficking.
He said the 10th high-level meeting between senior officials from Morocco and Spain, held on October 3 in Rabat, offered the chance to consolidate ties between the two countries.
On the Sahara issue, Margallo reiterated his country’s stance calling for a fair, sustainable and mutually accepted political solution within the framework of the United Nations.
