Known by the name of ” Bakou”, Abdul Rahman Qirosh, a Nasse Elghiwan star singer, dies at age 64 after struggling with a disease.
the late Bakou made his first debut with Jil Jilala band, then moved on to sing for Nasse Elghiwan. Originally from Essaouira, Bakou also took a keen interest in Gnawa songs and shared a rich range of his Gnawa experiences with his fans throughout his singing career.
A funeral is expected to take place tomorrow in the late Bakou’s hometown, Mogador.
Moroccan fans of Bakou have now lost one of the unforgettable stars of the traditional, original Moroccan music.
