Princess Lalla Salma took part in the religious wedding ceremony of Prince Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg and Countess Stephanie de Lannoy, celebrated on Saturday in the capital of the Grand Duchy.
Over 50 representatives of reigning and non reigning monarchies took part in the ceremony celebrated in the Notre-Dame Cathedral of Luxembourg, decorated for the happy event with over 3,500 roses.
Around 1,400 guests attended the ceremony, including 550 from Luxembourg’s population.
The ceremony began with a minute of silence in the memory of the mother of Countess Stephanie de Lannoy, late Countess Alix Della Faille de Leverghem who passed away on August 27.
The ceremony’s music program was broadcast live by many TV channels.
At the end of the ceremony, Princess Lalla Salma took part in the official ceremony offered at the Grand Ducal palace, the official residence of Luxembourg’s sovereign since 1890.
Prince Guillaume, Hereditary Grand Duke of Luxembourg (aged 31) and Countess Stephanie de Lannoy (aged 28) were engaged on April 27. The civil wedding ceremony was closed to cameras.
