The trip HM King Mohammed VI has carried out in some countries of the Gulf reflects a genuine will to put in place an efficient strategic alliance with the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Morocco’s delegate Foreign Minister, Youssef Amrani said Saturday.
In an interview to Asharq al Awsat, Amrani underlined that this partnership is based on common interests and part of a win-win logic aimed to hoist relations between Morocco and the Gulf countries politically and economically.
He said an action plan was established for this strategic partnership, and will be implemented between 2012 and 2016. The plan covers political, economic, judicial and cultural cooperation, he said, adding that the USD5bn pledge over five years will be allocated as donations offered equally by Saudi Arabia, Qatar, UAE and Kuwait.
He noted quoting experts that thanks to its political stability, its developed economy and its efforts to promote good governance, Morocco has become privileged destination for investors from the Gulf countries.
The north African country is also a prime destination of capitals and a platform towards Africa, Europe and the US, the Arabic publication said.
