Austrian oil and gas group OMV said on Wednesday that nine-months net profit rose 21 percent as production in Libya reached levels last seen in early 2011 at the start of the uprising that toppled Moamer Khadafi.
Helped also by a stronger dollar, net profit hit 1.0 billion euros ($1.3 billion), up from 868 million euros in the year-earlier period, OMV said in a statement.
Operating profit rose 18 percent to 2.3 billion euros and revenues soared 27 percent to 31.3 billion euros.
In the first nine months of this year, we managed to deliver a strong operating performance with production in Libya, and also in Yemen since the third quarter, back on stream,” said chief executive Gerhard Roiss.
