The Israeli army is still carrying out its aggression on the civilian population in Gaza amid a deafening silence of the international community and the United Nations, whose permanent members failed to condemn its disproportionate and indiscriminate attacks on the Palestinians . On its six day of attacks, the Israeli forces killed 22 people on Monday, according to AFP, hiking the death toll to 100.
A media center was targeted for a second time on Monday, according to Al Jazeera English TV. The airstrike resulted in the death of Ramez Harb, a senior commander of Hamas’ the al-Quds Brigades.
Monday is the second deadliest day since Israel started its airstrikes on Gaza last Wednesday.
On Sunday alone at least 30 people were slain as the Israeli forces escalated their airstrikes against the Palestinians living under siege since 2006.
The attack that caused commotion in the public opinion, especially in Arab and Muslim countries is the killing of 12 people from the same family on Sunday morning. Among the fatalities were four children and five women, including one 80-year-old. It is the deadliest attack of the Israeli forces so far.
In a statement broadcasted on Al Jazeera, Hamas chief Khaled Meshaal said his movement was committed to efforts to secure a truce with Israel, but insisted the Jewish state must lift its six-year blockade of the Gaza Strip.
