The Moroccan currency, Dirham, rose, during the period from 15 to 21 November 2012, by 0.55 pc against the US dollar and devalued by 0.13 pc vis-à-vis the euro, according to Moroccan central Bank (Bank Al-Maghrib).
Net external assets of the Central Bank, for their part, stood at 133.5 billion dirhams, registering an increase of 0.3 pc since the beginning of the month and down by 19.9 pc compared to the beginning of the year, according to the latest weekly indicators published on Friday by Bank Al-Maghrib.
In addition, the Central Bank said it had injected during the week ending November 21, around 77.8 billion dirhams.
The interest rate average on the interbank market fell to 3.21 pc down by 6 basis points, while the average volume of trade stood at around 2.5 billion dirhams.
With regard to trading activity, MASI did not change significantly, maintaining its underperformance since the beginning of the year to 12.4 pc. Meanwhile, the average trading volume totaled 238.8 million dirhams instead of 112.1 million a week earlier.
