King Mohammed VI’s Week in Hawaii opened on Wednesday in Honolulu, with a message from the Sovereign to the participants in the event, read by Minister of Youth and Sports, Mohamed Ouzzine in the presence of the Governor of the State of Hawaii, Neil Abercrombie.
Marking the start of this event, the Royal Hawaiian Orchestra performed the national anthems of the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States, which was followed by a welcome speech by Hawaiian Governor Neil Abercrombie, who said he was “honored” to announce the start of King Mohammed VI’s Week in Hawaii.
A rich program has been reserved for this event, which will be marked by the signing of a twinning agreement between the region of Rabat-Salé-Zemmour-Zaer and the State of Hawaii, a Memorandum of Understanding to create a friendship association between Morocco and Hawaii, as well as other agreements on water sports training, and cooperation in tourism.
King Mohammed VI’s Week in Hawaii also includes the official inauguration of Handicraft and the Region of Rabat-Sale-Zemmour-Zaer Exhibits, as well as holding a forum on “major policy reforms, women’s rights, and economic modernization in Morocco.”
