Morocco, whose King Mohammed VI, chairs Al Quds Committee, condemns the Israeli authorities’ decision to build new settlements in the West Bank and the occupied city of Al-Quds.
“The Kingdom considers this latest decision as well as all the expansion operations and construction of settlements on Palestinian territories, an escalation of Israeli provocations, a flagrant violation of the rights of the Palestinian people, and a clear challenge to the will of the international community, which has clearly expressed its support for the establishment of a Palestinian state through a vote in the UN General Assembly,” said on Wednesday, a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Morocco, on this occasion, reiterates its call on the international community to “shoulder its responsibilities in this difficult situation” and “to demand that the Israeli occupation forces end all arbitrary decisions aimed to change the situation on the ground and to impose the status quo.”
The Israeli occupation authorities have recently approved a decision to build 3,000 new settlements in the West Bank and the occupied city of Al-Quds.
