The results of the reforms in Morocco are impressive, France’s Prime Minister, Jean-Marc Ayrault said here on Wednesday, adding that the north African country has succeeded to usher in a new type of growth.
Morocco, which has undertaken several projects including infrastructural ones and creating centers of excellence in the industry and services, has achieved a growth of a new type that has reinforced the new constitution, he told a forum French and Moroccan businessmen on the partnership between the two countries.
Ayrault expressed confidence in Morocco’s ability to move forward, and expressed France’s will to support the kingdom on the path of progress, calling for French companies to consider joint ventures in line with Morocco’s expectations based on “real solidarity because traditional trade has become outdated.”
France’s PM also called for well studied industrial co-localization which can be beneficial for the businessmen of the two shores of the Mediterranean, adding that Morocco can serve as a investment platform across Africa.
This meeting, which was attended by investors and officials from both countries, is a new milestone in strengthening relationships between the two countries, he said, adding that the high-level meeting between Morocco and France, due Thursday in Rabat, provides an opportunity to take stock and to establish new goals and an ambitious agenda for bilateral cooperation.
The meeting, initiated by the club of France-Morocco businessmen, was attended by more than 400 investors and several ministers of the two countries around cross-cutting themes, including “the overall competitiveness of Morocco” and “the business environment.”
